Command Blocks
HOW DO I GET THEM?
This can be a little challenging, since as of 1.4.6, they are not in the creative mode inventory yet. You can obtain one by typing in the give command if you are in cheat mode or creative mode.
/give (player name) 137 64
WHAT CAN I DO WHITH THEM?
You can do a wide variety of things with command blocks such as turning of creeper explosions, setting game difficulty, switching your game mode, setting the time, teleporting players, giving you things, and many other features you can tell them to do.
HOW DO I COMMAND THEM TO DO WHAT I WANT?
You have to know how to input the command, and you have to be an OPed player in Creative mode.
Below is a list of Commands I find useful and a description of what they do.
First of all, @p stands for nearest player, @r stands for random player, and @a stands for all players. If I put all 3 below, it means pick one.
Now for the commands...
/gamerule keepInventory true = Allows you to keep what is in your inventory when you die
/gamerule keepInventory false = Does not allow you to keep you inventory when you die ( Default )
/gamerule mobGreifing true = Creepers can cause structural damage when the blow up ( Default )
/gamerule mobGreifing false = Creepers can do health damage, but can't blow up blocks
/difficulty 0 = Peaceful
/difficulty 1 = Easy
/difficulty 2 = Normal
/difficulty 3 = Hard
/gamemode 0 @p @r @a = Sets to Survival Mode
/gamemode 1 @p @r @a = Sets to Creative Mode
/gamemode 2 @p @r @a = Sets to Adventure Mode
/ time set 0 = Sets time to day
/time set 14000 = Sets time to night
/give @p @r @a (Item ID) (Amount) = Gives player the item you put in. (Example: /give Notch 137 16 )
